CFD simulation services

Halton laboratories offer computational fluid dynamics simulation services for indoor air applications. Computer-based flow simulation is used to optimise ventilation and air-conditioning system functions, especially when experiments are difficult to set up. In addition, CFD simulation is often used to compare alternative solutions during design or the pre-design phases.

Also, laboratory measurement results have been used to create realistic computational models for Halton products, increasing the CFD simulations’ accuracy considerably. In addition, at Halton, CFD simulation results can be validated through comparison with laboratory measurements.

What is CFD?

Computer-based flow simulation is a unique tool for analysing flow phenomena in different applications. It has been used for years in the aviation, power generation and process industries. Today, the same technology is applied to simulate room air flow and heat transfer. Used in combination with conventional laboratory measurements, CFD helps to optimise ventilation system function and to create a good indoor climate.
